This is a very simple unspoilt 'Robinson Crusoe' style cottage available for rent for short term stays and holidays.

Takaungu Beach cottage has one triple bedroom (with a double) and a small twin bedroom.There is 1 bathroom.

It sleeps 2 in a double bed with a further single bed in the same room. The 2nd bedroom has 2 single beds in it and is quite small. There is a double bed on the roof which is the coolest place to sleep (when its not raining). Another 1 or 2 people can sleep on the long cement seat in the living room.

There is no electricity, no fridge but there is a cool box and ice packs are easily available in the village at KShs7 each and can be brought in daily by the resident caretaker. With no power there is no hot water (you don't need it!)

The caretaker/askari lives on site with his wife and 3 kids.

This is an unbeatable beach location, away from the crowds and lights. Don't expect night life and discos.

Kids love it. As do adults. Lovely swimming beach.

1km from Takaungu village. 5km from main Mombasa Road. 40 mins drive from Kilifi.

Secluded - escape the rat race - KShs5000 per night.
